My Background: From Electrical Engineering to a New Dream

Hi, I’m Chaitanya, and I graduated with a BTech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from JN Manani College in 2023. Coming from a tier 3 college, I always felt uncertain about my career path. After graduation, I joined Amazon as a virtual customer service associate.

While the role introduced me to the tech industry, I quickly realized that my true interest lay in coding and building something impactful. That’s when I discovered Cuvette’s program, and it sparked a new dream of pursuing a career in fullstack development.

Taking the Leap into Coding

Switching from electrical engineering to a technical coding career was overwhelming at first. I had doubts—coming from a tier 3 college made me question whether I could succeed in this field. But then, I attended a session on building a Netlify clone app, and everything changed.

That session showed me the possibilities in software development and gave me the confidence to join Cuvette’s placement guarantee program. It was the first step in transforming my career.

Embracing the Learning Process

Initially, I found concepts like HTML and CSS relatively simple to grasp, but the structured approach of Cuvette’s program made the learning process even smoother. Recorded sessions were incredibly helpful for revisiting topics, and doubt-clearing sessions provided clarity on tricky concepts.

The live classes, though, were my favourite. They weren’t just about learning the material—they helped me understand the smaller, often-overlooked details that could make or break a technical interview.

The Importance of Self-Paced Learning and Discipline

Transitioning to IT wasn’t just about learning to code; it was about developing patience and discipline. I realized that debugging errors and fixing bugs were part of the process and required a lot of persistence.

The program pushed me to spend hours troubleshooting, and this built my resilience. I learned to approach problems systematically and stay calm under pressure—skills that were as important as technical knowledge in my journey.

Building Confidence and Creating Projects

One of the most rewarding parts of my journey was building projects. These weren’t just assignments; they were stepping stones to understanding real-world applications.

The final evaluation test was a turning point—it consolidated everything I’d learned and prepared me for interviews. By the end of the program, I had a portfolio I was proud of and the confidence to apply for fullstack development roles.

Sharing My Journey and Inspiring Others

One of my biggest takeaways was the importance of spreading awareness about opportunities in tech. At my college, many students weren’t aware of the potential career paths in IT.

I referred several friends and juniors to Cuvette, hoping to bridge that gap. I wanted them to see that, with the right resources and guidance, they could achieve their dreams too.

My Advice for Aspiring Developers

  1. Stay Patient: Transitioning to tech is a process. It takes time and effort, so don’t get discouraged.
  2. Engage Actively: Participate in classes and interact with your instructors and peers. Don’t hesitate to ask questions.
  3. Build Projects: Apply what you learn by creating your own projects. It’s the best way to learn and build your portfolio.
  4. Network: Share your journey with others and help your community explore opportunities in tech.
  5. Be Persistent: Challenges will come your way, but persistence is what makes the difference.

Final Thoughts

My journey from electrical engineering to fullstack development wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Thanks to Cuvette, I had the guidance and support I needed to make the leap.

To anyone considering a similar path: don’t let self-doubt hold you back. With determination, patience, and the right support system, you can achieve incredible things. Every step forward, no matter how small, is progress.
