My Journey from B.Tech Graduate to Developer

Hi, I’m Anmol Kurmi from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. I recently graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science from Barkatullah University Institute of Technology Bhopal. Like many others, I found myself facing the daunting challenge of finding a job in a highly competitive market after graduation. But with the right guidance and a lot of hard work, I was able to turn my dreams into reality.

Discovering Cuvette

The turning point in my journey came when I joined Cuvette in November. I knew I needed to enhance my skills and get some hands-on experience, and Cuvette provided just that. Their structured curriculum, which focused on real-world projects, was exactly what I was looking for.

Why I Chose Cuvette

I considered a few different programs like Internshala and Coding Ninja, but it was my mentor, Avanish, who encouraged me to choose Cuvette. He gave me honest feedback about the course, which helped me make my decision. The affordability of the program compared to other platforms was also a big factor for me.

Learning and Growing with Cuvette

During my time at Cuvette, I worked on numerous projects that helped me apply what I had learned in a practical way. One of the key highlights for me was the six-month internship that provided a strong foundation in modern technologies. The hands-on approach really helped me bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

The Importance of Project-Based Learning

One of the things I loved most about Cuvette was its focus on project-based learning. I got the chance to work on several challenging projects, including building a full-fledged application from scratch. This not only sharpened my coding skills but also gave me the confidence to tackle real-world problems.

Mentorship and Guidance

The mentorship I received was another standout aspect of the program. My mentors were knowledgeable and genuinely cared about my progress. They held regular doubt-clearing sessions, which were incredibly helpful in enhancing my understanding of complex topics.

Preparing for Job Placements

Cuvette’s placement module was a game-changer for me. It covered everything from mock interviews to insights into the kinds of questions interviewers typically ask. These mock interviews helped me get comfortable with the interview process, and the feedback sessions were invaluable in highlighting areas where I could improve.

Understanding the Job Market

I attended several interviews, and with each one, I gained a better understanding of what employers are looking for in candidates. I learned how to present myself effectively and confidently during interviews, which was crucial in securing my job.

Landing My Developer Job

After months of preparation and determination, I finally cracked a developer position. It was an incredible feeling! Looking back, I can confidently say that Cuvette played a pivotal role in my success.

Family Support Throughout the Journey

I can’t talk about my journey without mentioning the immense support I received from my family. My elder brother, who’s a software engineer in Mumbai, was always there to guide and encourage me. His advice and experience helped me overcome many challenges along the way.

Final Thoughts

My journey wasn’t just about landing a job; it was about growth, learning, and perseverance. For anyone out there aspiring to become a developer, my advice is to choose the right program, stay committed to your learning, and never shy away from seeking help when needed.

Lessons I Learned:

  1. Choose the Right Program: Go for a program that offers hands-on experience and personalized mentorship.
  2. Engage in Projects: Applying what you’ve learned through real-world projects is key to building both your confidence and skills.
  3. Prepare for Interviews: Mock interviews are a great way to get familiar with the hiring process and refine your performance.
  4. Seek Support: Don’t hesitate to lean on family, mentors, and peers when you need help.
  5. Stay Persistent: Keep applying and learning, even when things seem tough – the right opportunity will come.
